Planning consent secured for revamp of 30,000sq ft HQ building in St Albans

Oryx Real Estate Partners together with their appointed development manager, Trinova, have secured planning consent to revolutionise their Centrium business park building in St Albans, which was formerly home to Premier Foods’ Headquarters.

The planning consent provides for two external private terraces, a new façade with full height glazing and additional lettable floor area in what is expected to be St Albans’ most sustainable building, with expected BREEAM Excellent, EPC A and Active Score Platinum accreditations. Once complete, Centrium will be a fully electric, 30,000 sq. ft. building across four floors and flexibly set up for single or multiple occupiers looking for space between 5,000 and 30,000 sq. ft. Bray Fox Smith are the appointed letting agents.

Mike McCarrick, Head of Development & Asset Management at Trinova commented: ”We are delighted to have secured this planning consent from St Albans City Council, which means we are one step closer to regenerating Centrium into one of the most sustainable and attractive buildings in the region.”

Guy Pickup, Asset Manager at Oryx Real Estate Partners commented: “We are pleased with the progress at Centrium and are excited that once this comprehensive refurbishment has completed, the building will have outstanding ESG credentials which are essential in today’s market and to satisfy occupiers’ requirements.”
